Video is sped up 5000x so might seem a bit fast, but it is done so on purpose to compress the footage and create a quasi timelapse, and so you can easily see the process that every single portrait that I work on goes through. High end retouching is a time consuming task and there are no shortcuts. For the best quality retouching time and patience is the key. The most consuming parts are the tone smoothing and color corrections of the skin and eyes. That is a very tedious process based on mixing tones on a separate layer or layers, sometimes performed multiple times via frequency separation. Dodging and burning is more of a creative process but it also can take a while, especially if you want to match the colors perfectly.
