In this video I will show you how to fix rough and uneven skin pores and mattify oily and shiny skin patches in photoshop, without damaging or blurring skin texture. I provide detailed explanation and show you how to do everything step by step. I am using two techniques - micro dodging and frequency separation in conjunction with one another, and splitting textures and tones to retain the quality of the image. This technique is used in professionla portrait retouching, it is a bit time consuming but simple to execute, and it produces the best results in terms of image quality. It is perfect for close up portraits where skin details are screamingly obvious and visible. You can also use those techniques for editing other type of photos, like architecture shots, where retaining details is crucial.
