Brace yourself: Beyoncé is black.
The Daily Show correspondent, Jessica Williams, had some choice words for people who thought Beyoncé's performance during the Super Bowl halftime show was too much because of its themes of black empowerment.
Williams began her monologue by praising the goddess that is Beyoncé.

The day after the big game, former mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani, gave his thoughts on Beyoncé's halftime performance, saying, "I thought it was really outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers."
Giuliani also said, "Let's have decent wholesome entertainment," inferring that Beyoncé's performance wasn't suitable for "Middle America."

Then Williams explained why race played an important role in Beyoncé's performance. Hint: Beyoncé is a black person.
